Private tutor for 2+ years with students from private, public, magnet, charter, and home schools. Tutor subjects from 4th grade-12th grade mathematics. Long term substitute teaching at Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia. Levels taught were pre-algebra and advanced algebra 1. Student teaching practicum at Wheeler High School, Marietta, Georgia. Taught 10th grade geometry and 12th grade statistics.

My teaching style focuses on interactive teaching to provide an engaging and educational experience for the student. I integrate previous material and constructs with new material to demonstrate how mathematics builds. By providing ample practice in different formats, students build confidence in problem solving skills. When mistakes are made, I use these as opportunities for students to grow and understand their deficits. Manipulatives, real world connections, and non-traditional lessons are used to foster discovery of mathematical principles and constructs. By allowing innovative thinking when approaching problems, students learn to think positively and are encouraged to find other possible solution methods.

Going through the educational process, I was a twice exceptional student. Because of this, it now allows me a keen insight into the needs and thought processes of students with learning disabilities and students who are challenged in the traditional system. My tutoring experience has allowed me to have interactions with students from different educational systems (private, charter, magnet, public, and home schools). This provides an unique perspective to the needs of all students.
