Specializing in all things about literature, I am have been teaching since 2009 for a total of 14 years of experience. I spent seven years in the general education classroom teaching third graders. I am currently working as supervisor for students at grades 4-6, teaching Advanced Literacy. Teaching has always been my passion, and I cannot say more than I LOVE my job!
I like to be creative and humourous with my teaching, and thus, incorporate different instructional strategies like one-on-one, group work, and interactive activities to promote students' learning. I engage my students by making them to participate authentically both verbally and otherwise. For instance, by asking them questions, prompting them to complete thought exercises, and encouraging them to share their own ideas. One style that I frequently use is inquiry-based teaching. I am a firm believer that students thrive when they are given the opportunity to engage in critical thinking, discovery and exploration. Therefore, I often use activities such as case studies and problem-solving exercises to encourage them to ask critical questions and arrive at their conclusions.
As a literature teacher, I have been fortunate to receive numerous honors and awards throughout my career. These accolades have been a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion that I bring to my teaching every day. One of the most significant honors I have received is the "National Teacher of the Year" award. This is a prestigious award that recognizes teachers who have made an exceptional difference in the lives of their students, schools, and communities.
I am proud of my education history, which I believe has played a significant role in shaping my life and career. It has taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance and instilled in me a love for lifelong learning.
