I am a very animated teacher who loves getting kids actively involved in their learning! I love to let the students guide their learning whenever possible! I am known to family and friends as the "Word Nerd" or "Spelling Police" because I am always noticing misspelled words and incorrect grammar usage. I encourage students to find "Grammar Groaners" such as misspelled signs or advertisements. I love to have fun with my students and want them to develop a love of all languages- mother tongue and foreign- and to learn how to use language correctly.
I sat on the curriculum advisory committee in my school district, and was chosen to be a parent advisor on the International Baccalaureate Advisory Board in my children's school district. Aside from teaching and curriculum, I enjoy writing and editing. I was chosen to write a monthly article on parenting for a magazine in Switzerland and have edited one novel and one non-fiction book.
