TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught a variety of students at the high school levels and understand the importance of engaging EVERYONE in your classroom - from the student who struggles to read, to the student new to the country and new to English, to the gifted student who needs challenged. I have taught English 9-11 (ELL students, honors students, and standard students), as well as English Language Development at a range of levels.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Relationships are at the heart of my teaching philosophy. My lessons are designed to meet students where they are at and push them to the next level; build confidence by giving students relevant and interesting material, while challenging students to go to their full potential. I like to incorporate group work, one on one teacher/student conference time, and partner work to build collaboration skills and support each students' individual needs.
