TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 9th year of teaching. In these short years I have taught Spanish 1 in eighth grade through twelfth grade. I have taught basic Spanish communication to kindergarten through seventh grade. I have taught Spanish 2 to high schoolers. For my Spanish classes, I have basically had to create and reinvent curricula several times. I have taught several years of middle school language arts as well as most levels of high school English. I have also developed and taught computers classes for 21st century learners.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe my style to be quite mixed between lecture, crafts, activities, games, etc. I have found ways to integrate Choice Theory, Layered Curriculum, and Whole Brain Teaching into my existing style. Our district uses the Marzano teacher evaluation tool for educators so I also have a focus on goals and scales for units within my classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My best teaching moments are when those invisible light bulbs go off over the heads of the most confused students. It lights up their faces and reignites my excitement for what I teach!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Master's in Educational Technology and a Bachelor's in English and Spanish. I have secondary teaching certification.

I have quite a bit of knowledge with Web 2.0 tools and would love to find a way to put these cool, engaging sites into my lessons here on TpT.
