This Is My Circus

I am currently the Academic Dean at my school but I continue to teach AP English Language/ENG 101, AP English Literature/ENG 102, Criminal Justice and Procedure, and Choir. I am also the National Honor Society Advisor, National English Honor Society Advisor, and Student Council Advisor. I also continue offering SAT and ACT courses. I am also the Head Volleyball Coach for the Fall Girls Varsity team and the Spring Boys Varsity Team. I handle all the Professional Development for my school so I try to share a lot of that here, as well. Previously, I have taught: English 8, English I, PreAP 9, PreAP 10, English 3 (11th grade), English 4 (12th grade) English 2(10th grade) AP Psychology, AP Capstone/ AP Research, College Writing and Presentation, Academic Writing. I was also previously the College Counselor, where I single-handedly created a college counseling program for students starting as young as 8th grade.

I do a lot of cross-curricular studies but I also like to keep things fun and upbeat when I can. Since I mainly teach upper school students who are preparing for College, most of my materials are in-depth and challenging. However, I do have things I made for younger grades as well.

I have earned coach of the year for the last two years (2022 and 2023) and my girls team was a runner up in the league and my boys team have clinched first seed and won the league two years in a row (2022 and 2023) I am an AP English Language reader for College Board. I have been recognized as a leader in educational change.

I started at Western Connecticut State University and finished my B.S. Secondary English Education at Grand Canyon University. I completed my student teaching at a local public school teaching 12th and 8th grade. I then completed my Master's program in Creative Writing through Southern New Hampshire University. I am currently completing my EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, I just need to complete my dissertation.
