TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Microbiology lecture and lab Instructor at Blinn College, a Community College in Bryan, TX August 2011- Dec. 2011 General Biology Laboratory Course Instructor at Baton Rouge Community College, Baton Rouge, LA. Jan. 1999-May 1999 Substitute Teacher, EBRP, LA School System Nov 2013-Mar 2023 Substitute Teacher College Station TX and Bryan TX ISD Jan 2012-Jan 2013

MY TEACHING STYLE

Student-directed teaching focusing on engaging the students in the learning process. In this manner, the student not only takes ownership and accountability in learning but the learning itself is more enjoyable and rewarding to the student, after an initial period of self-discipline and focus. The teacher serves as a guide and mentor, he/she monitors progress of and accesses the acquisition of knowledge, comprehension and application of concepts by the students. The Textbook is the ultimate source of learning, although other sources such as teachers, peers, the internet, atlases, software programs are educational as well.
