I am a charismatic, driven teacher. I am committed to success - for me, my students, my peers, and the guardians of my students. I believe in authenticity and personal growth, and I teach with a growth mindset. I believe that building strong relationships with students and their families is key to the success of all students. Optimism, humor, and high expectations lead the way in my classroom.

I attended school K-10 in my small midwest hometown before transferring for my junior and senior years to a local Christian school where my mom was a founding teacher. I then pursued an associate degree in art, followed by a bachelor's degree in graphic design from John Brown University. I minored in both music and religion. After having my own children, I earned a post-baccalaureate in elementary education from Western Governors University.

My husband and I have been married for thirty years. We are the parents of three grown children, the oldest of which recently made us grandparents. My husband and I live in our country home with our German Shorthaired Pointer, Maggs.
