This is my fourteenth year teaching elementary school. I currently teach third grade, but have taught first, second and fourth grade, as well. I teach language arts, math, science and social studies. While in special education, I co-taught third and fourth grade in the general education classroom.
My philosophy on teaching is that if kids can’t learn the way we teach, we must teach them the way they learn. That means my classroom is typically a fun, active and challenging setting. I enjoy learning and teaching through games, small group instruction, physical movement, individualized learning goals, and a positive work environment.
.
Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, and a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Differentiated Instruction.
When I am not working on school related activities, I like to spend my time with my family. My husband of 26 years and I enjoy traveling together on weekend excursions. Our two daughters graduated college and we're empty nesters. Our “baby,” thirteen year old Chloe the pug (#noinstagramchloe), and our 18 month old English Mastiff, Penny (@misspennythemastiff), keep us very active. When I’m relaxing, I love to read, run, and listen to music.
