I spent 9 years teaching 5th grade gifted students at a Title One school in South Florida. I recently began teaching 1st grade in my own home community and I am enjoying the change more than I could have imagined.
I enjoy teaching through interdisciplinary units, hands-on activities, and project-based learning. I am a strong proponent of the Science of Reading which focuses on Structured Literacy NOT Balanced Literacy or Whole Language.
