We are a team of two secondary English teachers who have a combined total of 64 years of experience teaching middle and high school English courses. Our collective experience encompasses teaching to many types of students, from those with IEPs to honors-level and advanced students. Our teaching expertise in English encompasses traditional English courses to Public Speaking (both local and college credit), AP Literature, AP Language, and Capstone.
Our lessons contain notes to instructors, instructional material, activities, assessments, and opportunities for student reflection. We are organized and systematic, and we love to color-code our materials based on an organizational pattern.
Within our team, we have training and certification in teaching AP Literature and Composition, AP Language and Composition, and Public Speaking. We have many beautifully written notes of appreciation from the students and parents of students under our purview over the years.
Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English education, Master of Science in Reading Education, an additional 15 graduate credit hours beyond the Master's Degree, and 30-150 hours of staff development each year of teaching
The Sonderful Scholar shop contains materials for English Language Arts pertaining to a locally-based Capstone Project (as opposed to AP Research and Capstone courses). The shop also contains units that can be used for other courses as well, such as public speaking or traditional high school English. We offer materials and activities for a variety of student grade-levels and learning abilities.
