Angie has taught 10 years in public education before completing her PhD and moving to higher education in 2012. Her years in public education included being a classroom teacher in grade three, a reading teacher, a reading coach and a literacy coach. Angie now teaches literacy course in an Elementary Education program. Whitney has taught second grade since 2014. She was a student of Angie's and they began working together during the end of her first year of teaching and have been working on how to help other teachers ever since.
Explicit instruction guides much of what we do. It is the foundation for great reading instruction and improving learning for a variety of learners. We keep to the foundations of good research and apply those researched findings to the instruction we bring into our products.
Angie was the recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award from her University 2017.
Angie has a PhD. in Curriculum and Instruction from Utah State University, a Master's Degree in Education and a Reading Specialist Endorsement from Utah State University, and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Weber State University. Whitney has a Masters Degree in the Science of Reading from Arkansas State University and a Bachelors Degree and ESL Endorsement from Dixie State University
