I have been teaching high school science since 2002. From 2008 - 2015 I had the amazing opportunity to be part of a grant project where I honed my curriculum development skills and collaborated with teachers around California to create science labs and activities with a career context, primarily in healthcare. As of 2017 I have led 51 workshops with teachers to incorporate real world application into science coursework. I am currently a program coordinator in San Diego and love to continue developing new curriculum in my free time.
As active and hands-on as possible. I have embraced the Next Generation Science Standards and I am looking forward to the shift in teaching students to think for themselves rather than regurgitate facts.
