I have been teaching for 24 years. The first six years were as a Special Education Resource Teacher for grades 1-4. Then I transferred to the general education classroom where I have been teaching 4th grade. In the last 10 years, I have been working in a co-teaching classroom - it's the best of all my teaching experiences.
I have a computer-based classroom (eMINTS) and my focus is on combining multiple, research-based instructional practices with technology in order to provide access to the curriculum for students with diverse needs and strengths. I also LOVE writing, science, and social studies, and look for ways to integrate it throughout the curriculum. Using cooperative learning strategies that engage students in their learning while strengthening their social skills is another important focus in my classroom.
