Renaissance Charter School at Chickasaw Trail Writing Teacher, Sixth Grade-Seventh Grade •In addition, I was in charge of managing and organizing the 8th grade teachers, English Language Arts teachers and Middle School teachers. •My responsibilities include but were not limited to: conducting weekly meetings; conveying administrative expectations; developing strategies and procedures that meet the needs and goals of the company, the school and the student body. •Attended bi-weekly meetings with administration to discuss and review goals, strategies and procedures, and update administration in regards to the needs of the teachers. •Demystified essay structures through mnemonics and teacher created writing formats, as well as, developed a writing curriculum that meets the needs of students. •Maintained a high learning environment, as well as, explained reading and writing connections. •Used technology in lessons to inform, explain and teach all aspects of the writing process; including but not limited to theme writing, literature responses, non-fiction writing, mechanics and conventions. •Determined students needs based on data assessments, benchmarks, and standard grading assignments. •Differentiated instruction with the use of writer’s workshops, strategy writing skills, as well as, implemented ELL strategies in an inclusive learning environment. •Explored and applied multiple writing strategies by gaining knowledge through professional developments. •Created a school literary magazine that features students' writings from fourth grade to middle school. •Coordinated and communicated with parents in conferences, as well as, maintained open communications with parents and students during the year. •Managed and updated grade books with progress reports and end of year reports. •Outlined and executed middle school discipline plan.
