The earliest years of a child’s life are the most important for establishing a foundation of learning. This period is when the brain develops, and where positive relationships and experiences are essential in shaping their future. As an educator, I aspire to create a comfortable, engaging, and challenging learning environment for the bright minds of the future through a child-directed atmosphere. I believe that it is important to watch children engage in playful, developmentally-appropriate work that will empower them to become lifelong learners. My educational philosophy is inspired by progressive education practices, with an emphasis on learning through play and constructing a literacy-rich environment where children can learn through their surroundings. Through my own personal experiences, I have seen the importance of establishing a play-based curriculum within the classroom, as well as creating an educational setting that promotes exploration and imagination.
