TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My journey in education started over 10 years ago at the University of Texas at Austin! I studied Early Childhood Education with an Applied Learning and Development degree. Upon graduation, I found my home in Dallas and received a job teaching 5th grade Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies. Throughout the course of my career, I became an Instructional Coach, Talented and Gifted Teacher, Assistant Principal and Community Liaison.

MY TEACHING STYLE

PL, or PERSONALIZED LEARNING, is a one-size-fits-one approach to instruction that is tailored to students’ individual strengths, needs, motivations and interests. This type of student-centered environment focuses on providing students with opportunities to collaborate, communicate, explore creativity, and critically think. Students set both academic and non-academic goals based on multiple sources of data and have pathways that encourage voice and choice.
