Teaching was my second career. My bachelor's is in Business, but after sitting in a cubicle for a few years, I decided to return to school and become a teacher. The career fits me like a glove. I love everything about it. It has been my passion for 25 years, now. I've taught Kinder through 8th graders primarily as an ESL teacher. At one point in my career I taught elementary school in Central and South America.
Make them laugh! Learning should be fun and exciting and kiddos should want to come to school. We want them engaged and be contributors in their education. I have a Montessori background and believe in hands on, student directed learning as much as possible. I always plan lessons around the I do, we do, you do structure. I believe in lots of independent work to build fluency and proficiency.
I believe I've taught students from every continent, and dozens of countries. It has been a privilege and a tremendous honor. My students have inspired me to live my life to the fullest. They have taught me what courage looks like, and taught me the importance of authenticity.
