- I taught French as a Second Language for three years, then grade 2/3 for three years and I have recently moved into teaching a grade 4/5 classroom for the 2020/21 school year!
- I truly feel that kids learn best by "doing". I try to incorporate as many 'game-like' and 'co-operative game' activities and opportunities into my teaching to keep my students engaged. Whether it's though manipulation to better understand a Math concept, or by having a movement activity paired with your daily Spelling activities, kids will learn either through interacting and conversing with others which will lead to them discovering and understanding a concept on their own. It can be a struggle to teach a group of students with varying abilities, but my goal when I teach, or when I'm creating products, is to ensure that no matter their ability, everyone will be included. Smiles and laughter can go a long way in a classroom, and for me, that's reinforcing enough to keep going :) The best feeling is having students ask to play something that YOU'VE made. Something that you've created. Something that you've put all of yourself into. When students ask to play something you've made, it's because they truly LOVE the game. This is such a rewarding feeling, and the best part about it, is that the students are learning at the same time :)
