The Kling Bee

Teaching math with games and technology is something that I love doing with my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. I student taught with a class of 18 early intervention 2nd graders. After that, I was hired as a long-term sub in 4th grade for the last half of the school year. The school hired me to teach 3rd grade the next year, and I have taught 3rd for two years. I was on the technology team, math team, taught a class in the after-school program for 2nd and 3rd graders, and ran the Scrabble Club for grades 3-5. I also do private tutoring for grades 1-5.

I try to incorporate technology and collaboration daily using work stations in literacy and math. My workshop usually starts with a quick video, review, or game. Students then break off and rotate between 2-4 stations around the room in the time allowed. I try to keep my summaries exciting and different throughout the week!

I live with my husband, three cats, and three chickens just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. We were both born and raised nearby. We love visiting the North GA mountains! I am a total homebody who enjoys spending days creating in my home office. When I am not working, I enjoy gardening (veggies, flowers, houseplants!), reading, and cooking.
