By The Joys of Littles I am in my 8th year of teaching preschool and my 6th year of teaching early intervention and early childhood special education. My students primarily have physical disabilities, but also may have health impairments or intellectual disabilities.
I prepare my students to exit early intervention programs into typical classrooms and focus a lot on independent functioning. My academics are straightforward and follow thematic units. We do a lot of songs, dancing, and laughing. I integrate communication, peer relationship skills, fine motor, and gross motor into every day.
I have am a National Board Certified Exceptional Needs Specialist.
I have a BS in Psychology with a focus on child development and a BA in Prek/Primary education.
I have two sons who love to argue with each other and two dogs who like to bark at everything.
