TEACHING EXPERIENCE

14 years as a high school journalism and broadcast adviser. Over 20+ years in the classroom. Started our newsroom from scratch and have mentored multiple HS journalism advisers including presenting at several conferences at the national and local level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

To all the high school and middle school journalism & broadcasting advisers, who are usually the only person that teaches journalism and/or broadcasting at your school, I feel ya'. This store was made with you in mind. From getting your program off the ground with fun activities or in need of a refresher AP Style review, to sub plans in a pinch for your classes, these are the activities that you can use starting TODAY! Lonely island no more. We are here to help you teach your journalists to go out there and do good journalism! New lesson plans are uploaded monthly so follow for new content. HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Voted Teacher of the Year 2019 for district. What I'm most proud of is what our journalists have won: 38 & counting Best of School Newspapers Online (BestofSNO) awards, 3 CA Student Media Festival 1st place awards, multiple NSPA, ASNE & SCJEA awards and 1st and 2nd place winners in our local school district photo and video art contests.

Bachelor's in English from California State University at Fullerton, Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Southern California, English Single Sub. Credential, National Certification in Journalism Education (CJE), CTE Credential in Arts, Media and Entertainment.
