I'm entering my (lucky) 13th year of teaching English primarily focused on Advanced Placement Literature and Composition instruction, which really translates to grading writing samples eight days a week. I am also a College Board AP Lit reader, NBCT, M.S. - English Education, and red pen addict.
Fast-paced with high expectations, I try to keep students guessing and questioning. I tend to use wit with my lit, since as a high school instructor, there's nothing funnier than, well, teaching high school.
Two-time Teacher of the Year, $59,496 awarded in classroom and school grants - so far - (from Samsung, Sanford/Expo, local education funding)
BS Public Relations - University of Florida MS Curriculum/English Education - Florida International University
Innovating, reading, creating, and grading - lots of grading - is life. LITerally. My hobbies include dreaming of lesson activities, writing college recommendation letters, and moving classroom furniture. In my ten minutes of spare time, I also enjoy (???) packing lunches and grading essays while sitting at ballet or baseball practice with own real-life children.
