I taught first grade for 6 years and recently changed to 5th and love it. Before teaching I was a food service manager in a nursing home. Teaching is something I always wanted to do and so I did it. Followed my dreams.
I am a very hands on teacher. Meaning, I like to let my students explore with learning. I use lots of different hands on materials. I like the students to be able to be involved and use discussion to determine the meaning of what they are learning. I feel this helps them understand the concept quicker and lets them own their own learning.
I received my bachelors degree from Alfred University in Alfred, NY. My masters was online through Concordia university Portland, OR with a concentration in special education.
