By The Crew in Room 102 I am entering into my fifth year of full time teaching. I have lots of experience with Pre-K through early Elementary including internships, student teaching, summer camps, and my current position as a second grade teacher. I am so thrilled to be beginning a journey in second grade this year in Raleigh, NC. I have spent the past three years teaching first grade in Durham. Immediately after graduating, I completed a year as an English Teaching Assistant with the Fulbright Program in Taiwan.
I seek to find the joy in teaching everyday! My favorite learning moments are the ones that happen authentically when students seek to gain knowledge on a topic. I truly believe that the best learning comes from strong relationships and classroom community. I know firsthand how difficult relationship and community building is when you are distracted by all the "stuff" you need to prepare from lesson plans to organizational tools. After I created and began using the products in my shop, my stress levels went down and my relationships with students strengthened.
