I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with 15 years of experience working in a variety of settings. I've worked with students of all age levels, but feel especially passionate about working with the pre-school and middle school age students. I've found that over the years, I've been especially interested in and have the most experience in the following areas: Social Pragmatics, Executive Functions, Expressive Language (Sequencing/Cohesion), Vocabulary Enrichment (Tier II words), and Reading Comprehension Functional and Play Based Therapy
I enjoy creating speech therapy and curriculum materials that incorporate creative ideas, include humor, encourage language "play" and allow students to have a say in the direction of their learning. By incorporating these elements in my lessons, students become intrinsically motivated to participate and learn, which in return, maximizes student progress and deepens their understandings. The additional benefit is that therapy and classroom activities are FUN and not boring!
