TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a primary classroom teacher. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in the environmental education field for eight years at Global Explorers (a non-profit in Colorado) dedicated to environmental education, service-learning and leadership! I have traveled with middle/high school students to amazing places such as the Amazon Rainforest, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Canadian Arctic and Tanzania!

MY TEACHING STYLE

If you are not laughing, you are not learning! I try to make learning fun, engaging and purposeful!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I slept in an igloo at -50 degrees F in Churchill, Manitoba-The Polar Bear Capital of the World!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

After nine years, I went back to school and earned my Masters in Education and teaching license in Colorado. After working outdoors with kids, my dream of teaching in the classroom came true! I wanted to take all the experiences I had traveling around the world and share my passion for environmental and multicultural education with my students. I LOVE being a teacher.
