I have been teaching for five years in a low-income public school with over 80% of the students coming from Spanish-speaking families. During those five years, I have taught both second and third grade. I have taught in both mainstream, bilingual Spanish, and self-contained ESL classrooms.
My teaching style is based on cooperative grouping and student independence. I use Daily 5, CAFE, and Guided Math in my classroom. I empower my students to make decisions on their own and find their own inspiration to learn.
Honors and Awards to be added at a later date.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Purdue University. Additionally, I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as endorsements to teach ESL and Bilingual-Spanish.
