The Adaptive Teachers are Ashley Lawreck and Kelly Chambers. Kelly and Ashley are special education teachers in Boston with a combined 15+ years experience. Kelly got her start as a Kindergarten through grade 2 teacher in Toronto before moving to Boston and working with a low functioning middle school population. She is currently enrolled in an Assistive Technology masters program, and she is dedicated to finding ways to help her students access Common Core curriculum using technology. Ashley has a masters degree in Moderate Special needs and has worked as a middle school teacher for students with severe behavioral and emotional disabilities, who function on grade level. Her strengths are in helping students with executive functioning difficulties stay organized and independent.
Our teaching style is flexible and fluid, but highly structured. We both find it extremely important to change and modify as needed to meet the needs of whatever students we're working with. That being said, maintaining a certain level of expectations and providing a strong structure has proven to be a huge component of our students' success.
