TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach PreK-6th grade general music, as well as a peer-based special-education preschool and Cross-Cat (Special-Education) music sections.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I would consider myself a Kodaly-Influence teacher, but I am always looking for new ways to better serve my students. I typically also include a lot of Orff-Schulwerk influences into my instruction and sequence.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my Bachelor's of Music in Music Education from Ohio Wesleyan University. I spent my first year out of college at the elementary level working on intervention teams in a variety of roles. During this time I absolutely fell in love with the special-education population I was serving, especially my long-term assignment in a classroom of students on the Autism Spectrum. I am currently in the process of working towards my Master's in Music Education with a Kodaly emphasis from Capital University.
