TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught grades 3-8 over my 17 years of teaching. I spent many of those years teaching middle school science, but originally started in 5th grade and am currently back to elementary. For the last several years, I have taught a mixed-level classroom of 3rd-5th grade. My students are homeschooled part-time, so I have a strong relationship with their families and have most of my students for multiple years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I absolutely love teaching in a mixed grade classroom! Since I have such a wide range of abilities, from struggling 3rd graders to advanced 5th graders, I have found that our student-driven, project-based curriculum helps helps differentiate for all learners. I love simple, easy to prep activities, and I am always looking for ways to enhance my lessons with a little bit of technology!
