TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 35 years teaching experience from K-8 and currently I am an adjunct professor for pre-service teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe lessons should be engaging, and the teacher act as a facilitator, allowing students to participate in the learning. Lessons have, or can by email request, an additional PDF to use for home bound students that are ill and unable to attend class regularly. We know when a child has extensive absences it is hard on the teacher. Team Jordan gives permission for the PDF to be used by a tutor. We are willing to assist in helping a child remain current dealing with an illness. Money earned by Team Jordan is used annually to assist a family with a child battling cancer.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoyed over 30 years of teaching from grades K-8, and now teach future teachers. In 2006 our local high school started the Jordan Scheer Memorial Children's Relay for Life in honor of our son, with students grades 3-6 raising money for the American Cancer Society. In the past 12 years just under $250,000 has been raised. In addition, our family has chosen to assist a family with a child undergoing cancer treatment with an monetary gift to be awarded at the relay. The first $500 earned from Team Jordan TpT will be added to that gift.
