During my college years I had the opportunity to work with a variety of age groups as I worked full-time and attended college part-time. I got to volunteer with an organization called Jumpstart. Here I found my love for preschool and early education. I also worked at Tsongas Industrial History Center where I got to work with students from 3rd to 12th grade. I spent several years at HeadStart, working as both an assistant and lead teacher. I have also worked as a Title 1 Reading paraprofessional for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade where I got to work on reading skills by running phonics based groups and guided reading groups. The Recreational Education Center provided me with invaluable experience working with children who have Autism. I have previous experience teaching in 7th and 8th grade in a co-teaching setting. Currently, I teach in a 4th grade 6:1:1 class.
Student driven, with as much student talk as possible. My goal is to teach students to work independently on their skills.
