TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching at a small school in Connecticut for the past eight years. Throughout these eight years I have taught Writing Lab, Mixed/ Remedial English, Middle School Language Arts, English 9 (Introduction to Literature), World Literature, American Literature, English 12, AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature and Composition. My classes are typically small, but all of my students have a emotional or learning disability that has landed them here. Therefore, my lessons strive to be highly engaging/ active, as well as scaffolded to break down the really meaningful skills students will carry with them through their education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I really love having meaningful discussions with class but have realized that students need to develop many essential life skills before a classroom can continuously have engaging discussions. Many of my lessons focus around developing these social skills as well as their academic skills to create well rounded young adults!
