Teaching Through Songs

I am a special education teacher, musician, and a mother of two children. One of my sons has a diagnosis of autism, which prompted me to begin writing music that would help him grow and learn social concepts. The more I played the music for other educators, the more apparent it became that the concept of teaching social skills to children is not specific to special education students. We need to teach all children how to treat one another so that the epidemics of bullying and other social injustices can stop plaguing our society.

The music is written so as to be enjoyable for children, as well as the adults that introduce it to them. It is contemporary with a hint of folk music.
