We are two Chicago teachers who love our jobs! We have a combined 35 years of experience at both the elementary and middle school levels. We enjoy creating products to use in our very own classrooms or to help our colleagues. We hope you enjoy!
We like to consider ourselves the type of teachers who make their students work hard, yet they don't realize it because they are having so much fun!
We are both Certified Google Educators and have presented at a number of educational conferences in the Chicagoland area.
Ms. Reinhardt - I was born and raised in Iowa. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University. Go Cyclones! I lived in Iowa until 1995 when my best friend convinced me to move to the big city. I became a nanny for an opera singer and was able to travel the United States and Europe with her and her son. During this time I also earned a Masters of Education in Educational Technology from National-Louis University. Getting an advanced degree is how I found Sacred Heart. Ms. Lagerquist - I was born and raised in Chicago. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fitness Leadership and Health Education from St. Ambrose University. After college I worked in advertising - print and design for 2 years. I left the advertising to follow my passion and found myself teaching at Sacred Heart Schools. It was at this point that I met Julie Reinhardt and our story began.
My name is Julie Reinhardt, and I teach 4th-grade girls. I love teaching and am very fortunate to work at Sacred Heart Schools on Sheridan Road. For ten years I taught in the computer lab. I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for two years and taught 5th grade. I returned home to Chicago and have been teaching 4th-grade girls ever since. This will be my tenth year teaching Academy 4b. Even though I loved working in the computer lab, fourth grade is the perfect place for me. My name is Kristin Lagerquist and I am the Technology Integration Specialist for K-5 at Sacred Heart Schools in Chicago, IL. I made the leap into the world of technology after teaching PE for 12 years. It was a daunting change - both subject matter (PE to tech) and students served (middle school to K-5 & teachers) but it was definitely the right move and I haven't looked back. I enjoy creating resources for teachers and I love helping students reach those "ah ha" moments with tech.
