TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching first grade for 18 years. I've taught pre-school and fifth graders before finding my home in Grade One!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style changes with each group of amazing students. I love when my students can be hands on to explore and discover. I also love to use technology in my lessons. I find that in this day and age, kids relate to the "big screen" and often use this for an attendtion grabber! I am always a student and always looking for ways to become a better teacher!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In addition to teaching I am honored to be the First Grade Facilitator for our school district. I work with amazing first grade teachers who give their heart to their students everyday! I am blessed to work and collaborate with such smart teachers. I feel rewarded everyday working with first graders and their families!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor - K-8 Education. Minor in Psychology. I also have a degree in Medical Assistance which I never use anymore!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a mother to 5 wonderful children + one son-in-law! We were blessed with twin boys when our daughter was 17 months old so we have a house full of laughter. They are my sunshine. My husband is also a teacher and coach. I love to read, create, and teach!
