I have taught Suzuki violin and string classes in the schools for the past 15 years. A few years back I started designing practice cards for my students during the summer. My hope was to provide 7 day challenges and keep them on track during the summer months. These slowly grew into the shop you are seeing now. Now I am creating products so more teachers and parents can enjoy. I work as a Suzuki violin pedagogy coordinator at the University of New Mexico. I work closely with Prof. Susan Kempter who I studied with. I teach weekly Suzuki classes. I demo and help young student teachers by providing feedback on their teaching. My work as a Suzuki Violin Pedagogy Coordinator at the University of New Mexico requires me to to teach Suzuki group classes every week. I have started collecting some of the ideas into fun and ready lesson plans where the teachers can download the flash cards telling them what activities would be appropriate. If you are a busy Suzuki teacher and need a ready Suzuki violin group class ideas, check these out! I also direct the orchestra programs at a middle and high schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My teaching style with the beginning students is greatly influenced by the Suzuki style. In this Suzuki Shop you can find lots of materials and manipulative to encourage practice. You can find ready activities for your group classes to ease your preparation and provide fresh ideas. You can also find some posters and ready materials for your public school string program.
My teaching style is influenced by the Suzuki method although I use different ways of engaging large string classes. I have been very involved in string education through presenting at conferences, teacher lectures and through my duties as the ASTA president for New Mexico chapter. I am just now starting to get some of the ideas into TpT products.
