Suzette Powell

I am a veteran of the US Marine Corps who took on teaching after serving in the Gulf War. I have taught for 11 years now, in Georgia and in North Carolina. I am a National Board Certified teacher, which I completed very early in my teaching career. My passion is Mathematics, which is why I am known as the "Math Guru" in my school. I have taught third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades since starting in 1998. I am currently working on bringing Guided Math into my school.

I try to teach everything in small groups. I prefer hands on learning to keep active learners engaged. I love cooperative groups and I believe in developing peer tutors.
