TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent the first 6 years of my educational career in Eastern North Carolina. I taught 2nd grade for 3 years and 3rd grade for 4 years. I have taken the plunge to middle school and I am now teaching 6th grade ELA. I Love It!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a very structured classroom where the students are encouraged to explore and answer their own questions. I want all of my students to feel safe taking educational risks and trying new things. I like to do activities that students have a choice in the way they show mastery. This helps them buy into their own education.

I was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2012 and 2019.
