TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have spent 10+ years in the classroom teaching various secondary Math grade levels. I have been a math department chair for more than half my career and in various leadership positions almost as long as that. I have a passion for collaboration and working with others and believe strongly that a great leader listens, and works to meet the needs of the team just as much as the needs of the students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Most of the material I am posting has been developed in the past 3 years. They are ways that I have challenged my students to investigate and tangibly play with the material in real life scenarios and playful situations to gain a deeper conceptual understanding of the standards. The goal of the projects and problem based interactive learning activities are to promote student struggle, discussion and discovery for the students. The intention of them is to inspire, motivate and engage the students as well as encourage discussions and collaboration while they navigate math standards.
