TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a classroom teacher for 20 years and a music teacher for another 20 years. I have a YouTube channel for primary music teachers. For the past 5 years I have made resources for the non specialist so that they can be less fearful of taking music.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to think that the children can relate to my material. The music is in keeping with today's generation and they can easily join in with the instrumental work. My aim is to make music fun and help children gain confidence.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Post graduate certificate in Music Technology. Teaching certificate (UK) Semi finalist south East Essex "Search for a star" Featured in the T.E.S "Hall of Fame"

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended a boarding school in my early years and had a rather difficult time.. I promised myself that I would become a teacher and be pleasant to my charges and help them to be confident and accepted. I completed my A levels at a State high school and went on to teachers training college.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

When I was 50, I decided to leave teaching for a few years and become a professional musician . I ended up in the mountains of Norway with a very eccentric but highly skilled guitarist, playing rock, pop reggae and ballroom, You name it, we played it. From then I went on to play in Holiday camps before returning to teaching, just that little bit wiser.
