For the last 8 years, I have primarily co-taught in the general education setting for 6th grade ELA. I have also had the opportunity to teach students with moderate learning needs in a resource room setting during this time. In August of 2023, I will be starting a new position in a self-contained K-4 special education classroom. Come along with me as I share materials from my 6th grade teaching years as well as materials that I develop over the course of my new classroom adventure!
I am a firm believer that all decisions in the education realm should be prefaced with, "what's best for students?" This is the driving question behind all of the decisions made in my classroom. With this question in mind, my instruction is FUN, ENGAGING, and APPROPRIATE for each student in my classroom. Scaffolding is my specialty! I love to give students what they need in order to be successful with the content that is being taught.
