I am an on-call substitute teacher with a local agency. My job has given me diverse experience in various charter schools from grade school to middle-school, in low-income to middle class areas.
Fun ! Fun ! Fun ! I "dab" (dance style) to reward students. I act out lessons. I use humor to get students involved. I give them decision power by asking them for a show-of-hands to vote how we should proceed with a certain lesson (example: silent reading or group reading ?) I always ask for their opinion. I realize that learning is a serious endeavor, but I can never be too serious.

B.A in English Language Learner Studies from Ashford University, 2015. RYT 200 hour Yoga teacher certification.
Aside from being a substitute teacher, I am also a certified yoga instructor with music as a hobby for over 20 years, so most of my lessons come with a song on ukulele, and you can hear a sample. I have a fascination for biology and natural sciences so I really enjoy teaching this subject to grade school level. I firmly believe that teachers need to break conventional methods to get children interested and involved in learning. I am inspired by teachers like Alex Kajitani and Barry White Jr. I create children's books on Storybird.com and have a profile there under the name 'Stefanosis'.
