I've taught for over 20 years from toddlers to teens and love what I do! I've been teaching in the same district for over 18 years. I started out teaching first and second year Spanish and took over our IB Spanish program 5 years ago...growing the program every year! I lived abroad for over a year, and still co-lead exchange trips to hispanic countries with our students about ever other summer.
In all levels, songs and games are a HUGE hit! I try to teach grammar via songs that I create to help complex ideas stick in their heads. It's the reason why jingles in media are so popular. Songs get stuck in our heads. So, students are learning and reviewing material without realizing it. :) In my IB classes, I try to find topics that align with the IB themes and are not only relatable but thought provoking. The more curious we get our students, the better! :)

I've always loved Spanish and the Hispanic culture. I raised my girls to be bilingual and love to watch their language journey. I also love being out in nature and feel so lucky to have so many hiking trails at our fingertips. If I were to somehow inherit money from an unknown rich uncle, I would travel the world with my family and let them see all of the beauty it holds.
