I received my first Spanish teaching job in 2009 and have been loving it ever since! I spent 5 years in a middle school classroom, but I am now at a 9-12 high school.
I believe authenticity and passion matter. My students know I love my job. It is important to me that students read, write, speak, and listen to Spanish every day in class. My first rule in class is "You can't be afraid of Spanish." We also remind each other frequently: "The more Spanish you speak, the more Spanish you'll speak!" It seems so obvious, but it makes sense to them and encourages them to commit to speaking in the target language as much as possible. Oh, and I love to HAVE FUN!
