After years of struggling in school, averaging D's and F's since first grade, going to summer school every year in high school so I would pass to the next grade, finally as an adult, I self advocated and was tested and diagnosed as Autistic at 43 years old. *************************************************************************** WHO IS SPECTRA THE MASKING COWGIRL? She is a character I developed to represent Female Autism. She is an amazing ethereal purple sparkling cow, "Masking" trying to fit in with regular cow society. She's wearing her best Neurotypical Cow Costume but no matter what she does it just won't quite fit right and her true nature ends up peeking through. She dons her precious Cow Mask every time she goes out, it helps her with socializing in the pasture with the herd. The other Cows know there's something different about her, something a little bit off but they just can't put their hoof on it. When they see some of the purple sparkle, they either accept her for who she is or don't want to have anything to do with her, because they don't understand. Hopefully more of the herd will learn about Female Autism and accept Spectra and others like her for who they are and appreciate their differences.
