I have nearly 12 years experience teaching high school social studies, the bulk of which has been focused on United States History. I have taught AP US History for 10 years now.
I am a pretty eclectic person, so my teaching style tends to reflect that. I love using film studies, webquests, primary sources, simulations, mock trials. I rarely lecture anymore because most of my lessons are designed to teach students how to be historians, examining evidence and drawing conclusions. Being an AP US History teacher means that a great deal of my resources are devoted to teaching writing skills and historical analysis skills.
Yet to be added
I have a master's in curriculum and instruction, plus 30 hours of graduate level history courses. I am a National Board Certified teacher.
