I'm an ninth year teacher currently teaching AP Human Geography, AP United States History, and Latin American Studies. I have previously taught Psychology (AP, Honors, and On-level) and Sociology (Honors and On-level). I am my district's teacher of the year 2023-2024. I studied at the University of North Carolina Asheville as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow scholarship recipient. I have lead multiple Professional Development sessions for my school district on writing with evidence in history, using interactive notebooks in history, creating choice boards, and implementing hexagonal thinking. I incoporate a lot of opportunities for student generated products and visual notes/representations of learning. I work hard to provide a variety of perspectives, opportunities for student choice, and an incorporation of primary source texts.
