By Simply ABC and 123 I have been a teacher for the last 22 years. The first 15 years I taught special education. I switched to kindergarten after that where I have the pleasure of educating non native English speakers. I employ many special education strategies in my current position and find it to be a wonderful balance and a great experience.
My teaching style is largely based on my special education background. I believe in providing lessons that provide various levels of engagement. I aim to provided just the right level of challenge for each student. My lessons often target one skill while also providing the opportunity to review and reteach previous skills. I believe in layering activities to include multiple skills and topics.
